WELCOME to three great days celebrating the very best of our rural way of life.

The Devon County Show – a showcase where town meets country – has something for everyone. It's fun, it's fascinating, it's informative – and its huge.

Packed with entertainment, features, trade stands, working displays and sheer spectacle it is a challenge to see it all in just one day!

We've put together a county-wide virtual catalogue featuring everything great about glorious Devon.

Our annual extravaganza offers a brilliant day out for the whole family. And, don't forget, as an added incentive to enjoy the showground experience, children accompanied by an adult go free on Saturday.

Not only will they have a wonderful time but no entry fee means families have more in their pockets to really enjoy the Show.

Make sure you get to see everything — horses, sheep, pigs, goats, alpacas, donkeys, chicken, guinea pigs, pigeons, rabbits, even bees! Be amazed at the prize-winning quality of these splendid exhibits. Walk through the Cattle Hall and get 'up close' to cows and bulls that you normally would only see the other side of a hedge, or in the distance.

Step into the Flower & Garden Marquee and be astounded at the scents and kaleidoscope of colourful blooms. I am always full of admiration for the artistic flair of the flower-arranging section where people translate a theme into a fantastic work of art.

Craft skills are also in abundance. So much Westcountry talent is on display. From jewellery to photography and paintings, and from knitwear and woodcraft to hand-made toys, you can enjoy an amazing array of crafted quality.

Local food – one of Devon's biggest providers of income – abounds and offers mouthwatering choices to tempt the tastebuds.

So make the most of the variety of offer – it's a real 'taste, try and buy' experience.

Last year we had our biggest Food and Drink Pavilion ever.

This year the very same Pavilion returns – but with new exhibitors and more Westcountry stands than ever before.

Come and watch the experts in action, whether it's sheep shearing against the clock or competitive horse shoeing and metalwork at the forge and, of course, for sheer nostalgia visit the steam engines, vintage tractors, machinery and cars.

Everything we do is steeped in tradition. We see part of our job as taking aspects of the past and enlightening visitors about them in the present and the future.

Come to the Show, meet the experts and experience rural life first hand.

For sheer entertainment we have something for all ages. Whether it's Tractor Ted — the 'Take That of the toddler age group', Amanda Saville and her 'Chariots of Fire' pony display team, or the fun fair, there is a definite Wow! factor to this Show.

One celebrity who will be putting in a VIP appearance on Friday and Saturday is the hugely popular Titan the Robot. He doesn't just appeal to the kids – he brings out the child in all of us. I know he works for me! Titan is such a part of the Show that if he didn't come I'm sure we'd get complaints from visitors of all ages!

The Devon County Show celebrates the county, its people and a way of life and it belongs to you. I hope you will come along and enjoy your visit – see you there!
