Westward Ho! main road to be closed for weeks following landslide
A landslide in Westward Ho! has closed one of the main roads into the village.
The incident happened yesterday on Atlantic Way, near to the site where 14 new dwellings are soon to be built, causing damage to a private wall and bank.
Devon County Council confirmed the landowner has engaged a contractor to repair the damage and that the road has been closed in the interests of safety while the work is carried out.
It is expected Atlantic Way will be closed for three weeks and a diversion will be in place along Fore Street, Sandymere Road, Golf Links Road, Beach Road, and vice versa.
