Westward Ho! tennis pair finish in style

TWO young players from Westward Ho! completed a successful season by winning the under-18 boys doubles at the Devon County Closed Championships.

Matt Johns, 17, and Lewie Parker, 16, beat a strong pair from Torquay in the final.
Matt and Lewie were on opposite sides of the net in the singles final, which Lewie won in a third-set champions tie-break. Lewis also earned the Chadwick Trophy, awarded by the tournament organisers for good behaviour and conduct.

Their trophies were presented by David Vinall, of Westward Ho! Tennis Club and chairman of the Devon LTA.
The pair won the men's doubles at the Ilfracombe Tournament earlier in the summer.
Lewie also won the under-16 singles and under-21 men's doubles, with Jake Foster-Ramsden, at Ilfracombe.
Matt won the under-18 singles and mixed doubles, with Lottie Koval.
