THE wettest year in England has meant a healthy sale in Wellington boots at Mole Valley Farmers shops across the South West.

Customers bought 104,000 pairs of wellies at their stores and 9,000 pairs alone from the South Molton store.

Farmers bought 515,000 tonnes of animal feed.

The company completed a record number of transactions, more than four million, and retail sales increased to £170 million on a like for like basis.
