The crew of a Royal Navy warship are being vaccinated against whooping cough after two sailors caught the bug.

HMS Edinburgh was carrying out a training exercise off Plymouth when the men fell ill.

They were taken ashore and sent home before vaccine supplies were ordered in for the 260 members of crew.

The incident has not affected the Type 42 Destroyer’s scheduled overseas deployment, which will begin after her training.
