Wide choice of activities at open day
YOUNG people looking for fun and activity this half term were spoilt for choice at a special event, writes Alexandra Brett.
The Rees Youth Centre hosted an open day for young people aged between 11-19.
The open day gave young people the chance to meet and mix with others their own age in a safe and friendly environment – and try something new.
The event had events such as dancing, skate ramps, climbing walls, surf simulator, sumo suit wrestling, arts, bush tucker trials, music/DJing and a BBQ.
The day was one of others being held around the city this week for young people, organised by the city.
Hannah Jordan, youth work team leader for the Plymouth City Council, said: "It's a great opportunity to meet new people, try out the activities on offer and see what they enjoy doing."
Run by Plymouth City Council, Plymouth Youth Services aims to provide a variety of opportunities for young people outside of school and their homes.

“Ah. A proper grown up article, Alexandra. It's got a point and everything. Keep it up.”
