A WOMAN was left with head injuries after her car struck a set of traffic lights yesterday.

They signals were left leaning to the side after the grey Nissan hit traffic signals in Crownhill Road, at its junction with St Peters Road, at around 11.20am yesterday.

The driver was treated for non-serious head injuries by an ambulance at the scene before being taken to Derriford Hospital, police said.

There were delays for motorists and detours for HGV drivers as the car remained at the scene until 1.15pm. Workmen cleared up debris and oil and made the lights safe.
