Woman jailed after slashing former partner
A jealous former girlfriend has been jailed for slashing her ex-partner across the face with an ornamental sword after she found him with another woman.
Amy England took the sword and a dagger from ex-boyfriend Paul Gale's bedroom wall and used them to lash out at his face and body.

She left him needing stitches in his cheek, arms and hands after the attack in his bedroom, Exeter Crown Court was told.
England burst into the home of 39-year-old Gale, who the court heard collected antique weapons, shortly after midnight when a friend spotted him returning from a night out with a woman.

She hammered on his door and when he answered she pushed her way in, claiming she was looking for underwear which she had left at his home.
England, 22, of Burnthouse Lane, Exeter, denied wounding Mr Gale at his home at nearby Briar Crescent and battering Anastasia McGowan in the same incident. She was found guilty of both.
She was jailed for two years by Judge Mr Justice Evans who told her: "This could very easily have been a case of murder."
