Woolwell garage fire being investigated by police

A garage fire in a South Hams housing estate is being treated as suspected arson, say police.

Two fire crews were called to the blaze in Woolwell at 7:11am today.

The fire broke out in a garage in Woodend Road.

Firefighters put out the blaze using one hose reel jet, two breathing apparatus, and positive pressure ventilation.

The entire contents of the garage were destroyed, along with 50 per cent of the roof.

A police spokesman said: "A fire investigator is on the scene and at the moment the fire is being treated as suspicious.

"There will be a full analysis of the incident."

No injuries have been reported.
