Work on Route 39 Academy at the former Clovelly Primary School begins.
WORK has started on the temporary site in Clovelly of North Devon's first free school.
Route 39 Academy, which is due to open in September in the former building of the Clovelly Primary School, was given the go ahead by the Department of Education last year.
Now, a year on, and building works have started on the former primary school building to ensure the site is ready for the first pupils to arrive next month.
The school will be based in Clovelly only temporarily before moving to a permanent site at Steart Farm, off the A39 at Bucks Cross.

"I am looking forward to sharing the finished result with everyone at the end of August."
Joss said students were preparing for their start at the new school in September and had been trying on uniform.
The school's open days are taking place at the school on September 18 and October 2.
Appointments for all of these events can be booked via Michelle, the principal's PA, on 01237 420369.
