STAFF from Curious Kittens Nursery in Keyham and Devonport have been trained in paediatric first aid by City College Plymouth.

The training aimed to help the 24 members of staff understand the needs of caring for the health, safety and wellbeing of children from birth to five years.

Curious Kittens manager, Julie Griffiths, said: "The course really exceeded my expectations. My team really enjoyed the training, finding it to be comprehensive and pitched at an appropriate level."

City College Plymouth trained the staff at the weekend so it wouldn't affect the normal running of the nursery.

Julie continued: "They are now confident that they could deal competently and confidently in a first aid situation."

Anita Gunning lecturer at the college, said: "Our courses are regularly updated to reflect the changing needs of the health and care sector and lead to qualifications that are nationally recognised and valued by employers."
