All praise to the Singing Kettle

“I can't speak highly enough of this establishment. It is just excellent both for value and quality. A very big added bonus for me is their gluten-free offerings. I have two family members who are gluten intolerant so finding somewhere which can provide a decent choice of gluten-free food is a big plus. They put some larger establishments to shame.”

    Homely friendly cafe

“I had a lovely Saturday lunch time bowl of delicious soup and a great tasting coffee in between Christmas shopping this weekend. Lovely helpful friendly staff. Mrs Messer, Cassey and Anna - thanks very much. Would definitely recommend.”

    Warm and Welcoming

“Our group of four (all from London so it was quite a journey) went down to Torquay for the weekend. We didn't know many places to eat but a friend had recommended the singing kettle to us and we're glad that they did! As we entered we were welcomed by the friendly staff who took our order and got us our much needed cup of tea in no time at all. We all got chatting to the owners and sampled some of their homemade cakes (all scrumptious!) before eventually saying our goodbyes and heading out for the evening. Needless to say that come the next morning we all knew where we were going for breakfast! And it was a great choice again as the food was served piping hot and really tasty. Best of all though was the value for money as it was a proper full english and you got a proper amount! We will be heading to Torquay in the next couple of months and will definitely be going back. ”

    Just next door

“While staying at the Kistor, just next door, we enjoyed scones and tea here on two afternoons. The welcome was great, the scones were to die for. Yummy. How nice to find a good dependable cafe which gives service with a smile and a chat and good food.
    Well done to you all.”

    Pleasant afternoon

“Having tracked down an independant Tea Shop, we were pleasantly surprised by the helpful and friendly owners. A good choice of food at reasonable prices. Clean and friendly. Worth a visit. Far better than a chain coffee shop. Lets all support our independant shop keepers and those in the catering trade.”

    Lovely Staff and Food

“We love going here as we are allowed to bring our dog (especially good when its cold or wet!!) Homemade cakes and scones are lovely and the Farmer's tea is absolutely lovely ( a cheese scone served with chutney and cream cheese). A lovely atmosphere and we just love the cooked breakfasts, served all day and not a cheap ingredient in sight! Great value for money.”
