Three cars damaged by fire in Hartland

Three cars were damaged by fire after catching alight in a residential area in Hartland last night.

Initially, one crew from Hartland attended a report of a car fire in Natcott Lane at around 11.20pm.

However, upon their arrival the crew called for back-up after realising there were three cars involved and the vehicles were in close proximity to properties.

A crew from Bideford attended and firefighters used two hose reel jets and two dry powder extinguishers to tackle the blaze.

Two cars were severely damaged by the fire and a third vehicle sustained light damage as a result of the incident.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said the cause of the fire was believed to be accidental.
