DO you agree or disagree with the Power 50 2012 names? Remember, the selection is totally subjective.

And now you can also have a say on who should be there. We are asking readers and our audience to select their own 'People's Top 10'.

  1. Power50

    Power50

They don't need to be on the current list. They can be totally new and they don't necessarily need to be from the business world.

It's entirely your shout. It's your chance to nominate somebody you feel should be up there with the rest of the movers and shakers in Torbay.

“For the last thirty years I have heard it said that we are too dependent on Tourism and that is so. But, in the meantime, tourism is our main industry and must be encouraged so the list is probably reflecting the current reality. If we cannot even sustain tourism we will end up like some of those sad Welsh valleys post the mining era.”

“I would love to nominate the lovely Roma who until recently used to meet and greet theatre goers in Torbay. No 1 lady in my books.”

“Other than the Mayor, councillors and MP on the list I notice that the business people are mainly to do with hotels and the tourist trade. Hotels provide temporary poorly paid work for people. What is needed is some industry or businesses in the area that will provide reasonably paid, permanent employment for the residents of the bay.”
