Name change for senior citizens' group
A campaigning group of senior citizens has changed their name to attract younger members.
Plymouth and District Pensioners Action Group, which has been a strident voice on issues affecting older people, will now be known as The Pensioners and Fifty Plus Action Group.
Margaret Williams, secretary of the group, the name change was felt to be more reflective of the people they hoped would join.
"At a recent meeting it was pointed out that if somebody over fifty only saw our title they could assume that they would be excluded from membership," she said.
