Fire crews called to thatch blaze at Weston near Honiton
Eight fire appliances from Honiton, Ottery St Mary, Middlemoor, Sidmouth, Axminster, Cullompton, Exmouth and Danes Castle, together with the Water Carrier from Danes Castle and the Aerial Ladder Platform from Taunton, were mobilised at around 1:30pm on Saturday. They were responding to reports of a thatch fire at a house in Weston, near Honiton.
Upon arrival crews confirmed a fire involving a thatch roof around the chimney.

Crews set to work to extinguish the fire using chimney gear, ladders and two water jets.
Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue service confirmed later that the cause was accidental.
