Crews used four hose reel jets, one foam jet and a thermal imaging camera to tackle the blaze, which involved an oil appliance.

Two positive pressure ventilation fans were used to ventilate smoke from the property.

Once the fire was extinguished, crews carried out an extensive search of the thatch and roof space to check for any hotspots and ensure the property was safe.

Fire chiefs confirmed the fire was out by midday.

No injuries were reported.
