Five face drugs charge

FIVE men have appeared in court charged with being part of a conspiracy to supply cocaine.

The men are alleged to have been involved in an alleged trafficking ring to supply the Class A drug in the UK.

John Minchinton, 33, of Kings Drive, Brixham; Neal Musk, 34, of Paris Road, Paignton; Simon Parker, 37, of Southfield Avenue, Paignton; Christopher Williams, 39, of Chartwell Close, Paignton, and Robert Daley, 49, from Liverpool, all appeared before magistrates in Torquay.

It is alleged that between March 1, 2011, and January 2, 2012, the men conspired together to supply the drug.

Minchinton is also charged with possessing a weapon, namely 10 stun guns.

Parker also faces a charge of possessing £85,000 of criminal property.

No pleas were entered.

The case was adjourned for committal to Exeter Crown Court on December 21.

A SIXTH man, David Morrison, 39, from St Luke's Road South, Torquay, has already appeared in court charged with being part of the conspiracy and possession of criminal property, namely £85,980.

Tyre slashing spree in town

POLICE want to track down a man in a striped beanie hat after a tyre slashing spree resulted in more than £1,000 damage.

A dozen vehicles were damaged in the Newton Abbot area during the crimes, which occurred overnight on December 5.

Decoy's Keyberry Road was one of the areas targeted.

A Mercedes SLK, Renault Scenic, VW Polo, Renault Megane and a VW Caddy were all damaged.

The spree continued at West Mount where a Vauxhall Corsa and Mitsubishi were hit.

A Vauxhall Astra parked in Sainsbury's car park also had its tyres cut.

A VW caravanette, Honda CRV and White Citroen parked in Kingskerwell were also involved in the series of incidents as well as a Vauxhall van in St Michael's Road, Newton Abbot.

"We are linking all these crimes," said a police spokesman.

"On two occasions a stocky man, around 5ft 8ins was seen in the locations wearing a striped beanie hat."
