Three-fold funding support win for Happy Energy
A green energy company that launched just four months ago has secured £140,000 in kick-starter loans and grants.
Happy Energy was launched by Adrian Wright in April, to supply and install technology ranging from biomass boilers, solar PV and insulation for both domestic and business clients.
Based at the Pool Innovation Centre, the Green Deal accredited company, which employs five staff, has secured £80,000 in loans from the South West Investment Group, in addition to a grant of over £30,000 from the Cornwall Development Company under its ERDF funded Business Investment for Growth scheme.
The company has also secured a £30,000 facility from Lloyds. The company has plans to employ three more members of staff by the end of next month, including two graduates through the Unlocking Potential placement programme.

"We are absolutely delighted to have secured the funding from SWIG, CDC and Lloyds which has really enabled us to hit the ground running," said Mr Wright. "It is still early days but the signs are extremely positive. The rapid growth we are seeing and the jobs we have been able to create would not have been possible without their support.
"We are already working on some really interesting projects at both commercial and domestic level."
