Carlsberg South West Peninsula League secretary Philip Hiscox has given his clubs the chance to postpone their matches 24 hours early.

It is the second time this season that Hiscox has allowed clubs to make early decisions admitting: "I can't recall doing it twice this early but with the terrible weather it makes sense to implement the severe weather regulation."

Ten clubs took advantage of the situation to call off today's matches, with the games at Falmouth Town, Penzance, St Austell and St Blazey in the Premier Division; Crediton United, Exeter Civil Service, Exmouth Town and Plymstock United in Division One East; plus Penryn Athletic and Wadebridge Town in Division One West all called off.

The Premier Division still has three games scheduled, along with a Throgmorton Cup tie at Camelford.

The league leaders, reigning champions Bodmin Town, will be hoping that Liverton United's Halford ground will survive the weather and give them the opportunity of extending their lead at the top.

The game at Halford has a 2.15pm kick-off, while the other games at Bovey Tracey and Newquay have traditional 3pm starts.

Torpoint Athletic provide the opposition at Mount Wise against the Peppermints, who are unbeaten in four games.

The visitors have the bonus of striker Josh Grant returning for Christmas from his scholarship in America, but their assistant player-manager Karl Curtis is suspended.

Bovey Tracey entertain Witheridge. The match will be the first game for the new Bovey management team of former Elmore boss Ryan German, who is assisted by former Callington and Plymstock boss Micky Hunt.

There are two Throgmorton Cup third-round ties to be completed. Camelford entertain East Division side Stoke Gabriel today (2.30pm) while the meeting between Torpoint and Bodmin has been scheduled for next Saturday.

Division One East is down to just two games, with Appledore entertaining Okehampton Argyle (2.15pm) in one of the pair.

The game of the day takes place at Axminster Town, where the table-topping Tigers entertain second-placed Budleigh Salterton (2.15pm).

The top two clubs in Division One West are both at home, with leaders Godolphin Atlantic taking on Vospers Oak Villa (2.15pm).

Vospers lost 10-0 at Helston Athletic last weekend, and that victory took Helston within four points of Godolphin. Today, Atlantic entertain Perranporth (2.15pm).
