HISTORY came alive at Ernesettle Community School when pupils got their hands on ancient Greek artefacts.

The Year 5 youngsters also dressed up in outfits modelled on those worn by the ancient Greeks.

The school's Greek Day was all part of a visit from 'Menelaus' – aka history expert Ian Johnstone.

Teacher Danielle Smith said: "I knew Ian from an event at my previous school and thought it would be a great way to make history more tangible and come alive for the students.
