Ref John Elder’s letter (January 26) about Holocaust Memorial Day.

It has always puzzled me why a supposed all-powerful and caring God, creator of the Universe and all that’s in it (utter nonsense – of course) did not feel the need to prevent the horrors of Auschwitz, Belsen, Dachau etc.

Over the years I’ve been much amused by Mr Elder’s letters to The Herald, along with other religious letter writers.

For me there are two types of religious people: those that are brainwashed from early birth, surely against their human rights?; and the deluded type.

I wonder which camp Mr Elder is in?
