I have lost my faith in Conservative Party
THANK God for people like Ann Widdecombe who are prepared to stand up and be counted on matters that are an affront to the Christian Faith.
The subject of homosexuality is a difficult one for many Christians, for many of us recognise that in the majority of cases the condition is down to a genetic mix up.
But that does not alter the fact, that it is contrary to nature. The primary object of sex is the procreation of children, and that is in no way, naturally possible in a same sex relationship. So no matter how you frame it, it is a perversion, and should never be embodied in law. It is an assault on the institute of marriage, and the family. It has been well said that, "The nation that neglects it's family life does so at its peril". We see evidence enough of the truth of that statement all around us, without this generation adding to the moral morass. Rather than endorsing, what is after all a perversion of nature. we should be concentrating our minds on finding a remedy. Genetic engineering is already a reality.
Now before anyone rushes to accuse me of being homophobic, let me assure you I have some homosexuals in my circle of friends, and if anyone was to attack them for their sexual orientation, I would go to their defence.

However, I recognise that with this change in the law, many Christians, guided and influenced by Biblical teaching, will have a real problem if they are in such jobs as registrars, and teachers. Surely it is not right that they should be called upon to carry out same sex 'marriage' ceremonies; neither should Christian teachers be expected to teach that homosexuality is in any way the norm or acceptable. That surely is unjust, and there is no way they should lose their jobs because they choose to follow the dictates of conscience. We talk a lot about human rights, so what about the human rights of teachers, or registrars etc?
That a Conservative Party should be part of a Government who has promoted, and endorsed such a Bill, beggars belief, and as a life long Conservative voter, I shall not be voting for such a perverse, and perverted party in future.

“I despair to think that this is perceived by non-Christians to be the mainstream Christian view. My own church seeks to be inclusive and I don't know anyone in our congregation who holds views similar to Mr Jones.
He claims to have homosexuals in his circle of friends and yet labels their sexual preferences as "a perversion". I think they may be ex-friends after this!
