FRISKY cats enjoying long summer evenings have presented an animal shelter with an accommodation problem.

The Blue Cross Animal Shelter at Bickleigh, near Tiverton, has found itself with lots of cats and kittens in need of homes.

A spokesman at the shelter said it was a regular problem at this time of year: "The longer evenings see cats out and about longer at night with nothing much else to do than hang around street corners doing what cats are prone to do.

"It only goes to underline how important it is to have your cat neutered."

To rehome a cat, call the shelter on 01884 85529.
