Refunds top £100,000 after show cancelled
Organisers of North Devon Show have refunded more than £100,000 in entry and exhibitor fees after cancelling the event in July. Cheques have been sent out as the show committee tries to manage the aftermath of its decision not to go ahead because of the weather. Heavy rain made the ground at Umberleigh Barton unusable. Negotiations are continuing with the insurance loss adjustor about how much the show will receive to compensate for its losses.
