I have been shopping at Jays aquatics for years now...

“I have been shopping at Jays aquatics for years now. They have an amazing selection of fish and sometimes if I have my niece with me we just pop in to look at them because its better than Plymouth Aquarium! There is a whole room dedicated to cold water and tropical fish and they have some of the best plecos (thats a fish!) that I have seen. They also sell really good starter fish tanks here small tanks with all the equipment you need to get started, good for children and presents and very reasonable prices.”

Brilliant Shop.

“This is a great pet shop. They don't only sell aquatic stuff either. They also have rabbits, mice, gerbills, hamsters, chinchillas etc and all the equipment, food and accessories needed to keep them. The fish selection however is brilliant, with an amazing "fish room" with tanks for walls.”

This is a fantastic pet shop that specialises in cold..

“This is a fantastic pet shop that specialises in cold water and tropical fish, and fish accessories. Its a bit out of the way (in the industrial estate near Focus), but it is worth the visit if you are a fish keeper. The staff are quite knowledgeable and obviously keep fish themselves. Great if your after some advice.”

Jays Aquatics is the best pet store in Tavistock if..

“Jays Aquatics is the best pet store in Tavistock if youre actually after a pet. They sell hamsters, guinea pigs, rats, rabbits and of course fish. They are also good for supplies like cages, toys, and hay, but I normally visit another store for dog accessories and food. The staff are friendly and helpful.”

Great pet shop

“Its a shame this shop is not in the main town but it never seems quiet and there are always customers when I have been there. It appears that people are willing to travel here and for good reason. If you keep fish it is brilliant. Such a large range stock is kept in a fantastic aquarium room, all the fish look well kept and not overcrowded. They have a nice selection of tanks too, not overpriced. Some good smaller tanks for children or those who may be just starting out in keeping fish. Also stock all your other pet shop and at good prices.”

“I have shopped for fish at Jay Aquatics and find the quality of service to be exceptional. All the staff I have encountered have been very friendly and helpful, and all have an excellent knowledge of the fish they sell. I also find useful the fact that if they don't have something in stock that you want, they order it in for you without any fuss.”

“It's been a little while since I kept fish and since I have been in here. But when I used to go there to buy tropical fish I found the staff to be very helpful and knowledgeable. The prices were pretty much in-line with other local aquatics. They have a decent sized area for displaying thier fish and generally had something of interest on each visit to their store. ”

Best around and good advice

“Jay's Aquatics is by far the best shop around if you keep cold water or tropical fish. They have a whole room full of fish which always look clean, healthy, happy and not overcrowded in their tanks. The staff are very helpfull and give good advice. Not in the main town centre but still definately worth a visit :)”
