DOG owners have a chance to scoop £100 in pet vouchers at this weekend's Animals in Distress Rescue Centre fun day at Ipplepen.

The prize is up for grabs along with ten £10 vouchers as part of our Top Dog competition.

Each pet attending the show has the chance to be photographed.

Each picture will then appear in a special supplement where our readers will be able to vote for their perfect pooch.

Last year Amanda Milton and pet Rosie took the prize, which is again kindly being provided by Gilberts Pet Shop in St Marychurch.

Amanda said: "It was a good competition and we were very pleased to win. Everyone saw the photograph when it went in the paper."

Staff at the Animals in Distress Rescue Centre have lined up a host of activities as part of the fun day including a barbecue, stalls and refreshments.

As well as the Herald Express competition a range of contests take place on the day too, including the most handsome dog, the one with the waggiest tale, the dog most like its owner, and the dog most unlikely to win a beauty contest.

Registration starts at noon, with judging from 1pm, and entry to the Herald's competition and/or the centre's activities costs £1.
