Too many riding the benefits gravy train
I READ with utter disbelief that our illustrious council leader says "We are going to tax the rich".
And in the same article in The Herald edition, Tuesday January 29, his sidekick Cllr Mark Lowry, holder of the city's purse strings, believes that a couple with two children earning a combined income of £475 per week and also in receipt of council tax benefit are going to be worse off, and see their council tax increase by a whole £2 per week. My heart really does bleed for these people earning in excess of £24,000 per annum and still getting benefits. They are obviously living well beyond their means and need to go without a few luxuries.
As a pensioner whose income is well below the sum stated, where do I sign on to jump on the Benefit Gravy Train.
