we're the saddest scouts in town
A SOUTH Devon Scout group may be forced to cancel its camp next month after thieves broke into their base and stole their tents.
The 1st Kingskerswell Scout Group will have to call off its trip unless replacement equipment can be found.
Generators, tents, strimmers and camping accessories which might cost the group almost £3,000 to replace were taken.
Thieves broke into the rear of the Scout hut by forcing open the doors.

They may have locked themselves in and had to break out of the building after ransacking it.
Scout leader Steve Michaels said: "Although we are insured what is really annoying is that until we are able to replace the equipment, we might have to cancel camp in September.
"Its also the fact that its hard enough trying to find volunteers let alone find people who can now help with the repair and sorting out the stock.
"We are currently trying to raise funds for a new building for the young people of the village which will now mean important resources will have to be spent sorting this problem out rather than preparing for the future."
Taylor Hornet, a Scout with 1st Kingskerswell, said "I am really angry that people have stolen things from the Scouts and am really upset about it.
"I was looking forward to my first camp and now my leaders say this might not happen."
Only last week Bishopsteignton Scouts had their outdoor equipment taken from their headquarters and it will cost them £1,000 to replace it.
