A concert to remember the victims and those involved in one of the worst crashes the M5 has ever seen has been organised.

On November 4, 2011, Taunton saw a horrific traffic collision on the M5 motorway, near Junction 25, which claimed the lives of seven people.

To remember all that were involved in the incident the Brewhouse Theatre in Taunton has donated the theatre for a concert to take place by the Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service Concert Band.

A silent auction will also be held to raise money for two local charities who were involved in the M5 incident.

The Fire Fighters Charity, which enhances the quality of life for serving and retired personnel and their families and SAVES (Somerset Accident Voluntary Emergency Service) a small voluntary group of highly qualified doctors who support the ambulance service when requested to seriously ill patients.

Both charities will benefit equally from the proceeds of the silent auction to enable their vital work to continue within the community.

The silent auction will take place in the week leading up to the 4 November and the highest bidders will be informed at the concert or by telephone, if they are unable to attend personally.

So far donations include:

• a 30 minute flight in a beautiful Stampe vintage bi-plane, built as a trainer for the French Air Force in 1945.

• A morning behind the scenes at a fire station.

• A clarinet or saxophone lesson with Susan White, a professional musician and Music Director of the Service’s concert band.

The M5 Memorial Concert will take place on 4 November 2012, at 3pm.

For further information on both charities that will benefit from the concert, please visit their websites: www.firefighterscharity.org.uk and www.saves.org.uk.

Tickets to the concert are available from £10 direct from the Brewhouse Theatre by visiting www.thebrewhouse.net
