The West Country Cheese Co in the heart of Barnstaple North Devon is a fabulous Cheese Shop & delicatessen.
Offering Wedding Cakes, Cheesecakes, Cheese boards, French, European and West Country Cheeses. We also stock a wide variety of pickles, biscuits, jams, olives and more tasty treats.
The cheese counter is the heart and soul of our cheeses deli, we have an ever changing and, as one customer said, a "spectacular and mouth watering range as good as you'll find anywhere!".
We are very proud of our cheeses, but our passion for good food has meant the expansion of our shop and our food offering so you'll find some seriously tasty goodies in store. The emphasis is on food that is locally made and sourced including hand-made chutneys, relishes and pickles, biscuits for cheese, delicious pies, pasties, quiches, hams, pate's, eggs, chocolate and more. We also now stock some great local wines and ciders.
We are constantly scouring for new artisan produce and if they aren't always local, it means we stock them simply because they are just really good, such as our slow baked sticky calabrian fig balls, fig & almond wedges, Italian & Spanish Charcuterie, delicious juicy olives and our ever expanding and very popular 'olive oil and vinegar bar'. Hope we've tantalised your taste buds and you visit us soon! However, if you can't visit our store, a great selection of what we stock is now available on-line for you to try at home!

“Bought a huge selection of cheeses from this shop as a trial to the idea of taking them up on having a Cheese cake at my wedding!
The lady in there was so helpful in telling me which cheeses worked well with each other,I was also given some free tasters!
The cost of the cheese was a surprise as I just assumed by being a small shop it was going to be expensive but it actually beat the super market for price and I got such a personal service .”
