Madryn Studio is owned by art enthusiast Rick Thorpe, who has over 30 years’ experience and a degree in Fine Art from Reading University. Rick is highly skilled in producing beautifully bespoke frames and mountboards for any image you desire.
There are a huge range of styles, colours, and materials for you to choose from to create a highly personalised frame. Whether it’s a photo, painting, or even a cherished home-made birthday card we can provide a frame that compliments the image. Matboards come in a variety of colours and styles including double and triple mat.
Madryn Studio also displays local artwork, prints, and personal artwork for sale. If you would like your own artwork displayed we can do this for a small commission.
There is also an exhibition every 3 months displaying work of a particular famous artist. Please visit the website to see which exhibition is currently running.
Due to low overhead costs we are able to pass these savings on to the customer, and therefore our prices are highly competitive.

Madryn Studio visits.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my visits to Madryn Studio, located in the lovely village of Combeinteignhead and usefully near the Wild Goose pub! Rick makes you very welcome and his and other peoples art is always varied and well displayed and priced. I particularly liked the recent Gustav Klimt exhibition and found interest in the framing activities which Rick carries out in house. Well worth a visit.”

“Anyone who appreciate art should visit Madryn Gallery. Set in this quaint Devon Village, it's perfect place to be inspired by art. I was there last Saturday to see a exhibition of local Artists and was very impressed. Great Galllery in lovely village!
“Jut visited Madryn Studio to see an exhibition of Devon landscapes by local artists - Worth a visit in this gorgeous Devon village. As well as being the resident artist, Richard can take care of all your framing needs, and afterwards you can take a stroll around the village,& visit the local pub!”

“Lovely art gallery just 2 miles from the pen inn roundabout in a lovely village. Beautiful pictures by Klimt and some nice original paintings too. Plenty of parking in the Wildgoose pub where they serve nice food and real ales. There is also a lovely church in the village with there amazing pink tiles. Go check it out. Gallery really cheap for good qulaity art. ”

Great gallery
“This gallery is perfect for any framing of important artwork or if you are looking to buy any great paintings, this is the place to come. I bought a painting of the topsham waterfront, and it just looks fantastic in the conservatory. Kind and welcoming, this is the place to come for framing and beautiful varied paintings.
