No sleeping on the job for PJ Day fun!
PYJAMAS, slippers and dressing gowns replaced usual workplace attire on Friday, as part of the North Devon Hospice's first-ever PJ day.
The event asked people at businesses, schools and organisations to spend the day dressed in their favourite nightwear to raise money for the hospice.
Rebecca Worth, from the hospice's fundraising team, visited those who took part on the day, accompanied by bedtime hot chocolate and a travelling bed, provided by Padfields.
She said: "I would like to thank everyone who has taken part in what has been a fantastic day.
"Everyone we visited looked brilliant in their PJs and made a real effort to make it a fun day. Taking the travelling bed around the area has been a blast and, thanks to Journal photographer Mike Southon we have got some fantastic photos."
About 35 different groups, including cafes, hairdressers and shops from across North Devon and Torridge, took part in the event, helping to raise about £5,000.
Other organisations which took part included the North Devon Leisure Centre, Barnstaple Town Council, The Big Sheep and Morrisons.
And teachers Catherine Heraty and Ryan Parker also helped year eight students at St Michael's organise PJ Day-themed fundraising activities, such as a slipper-wanging competition and guess the name of the bear game.
Rebecca said: "Dressing in our PJs all day has been great fun, and it was brilliant to see how many people supported the event and enjoyed themselves.
"But the most important thing is that PJ Day has helped raise much-needed funds for North Devon Hospice, which will go towards caring for local patients and families. Your generosity means so much."
