Still sparkling after 50 years
A PAIR of sparkling diamonds lit the way for 50 years of golden marriage for Exeter couple Terry and Maureen Slack.
Terry, from Burnthouse Lane, Wonford, spotted lovely Maureen Purrington from Bonhay Road, St David's, wearing the earrings as she supped a lemonade in the Duke of York pub.
"I love your earrings," whispered a suave Terry – and what else could Maureen do?
It led to a courtship, engagement and marriage when they were both 21, at the Sacred Heart Church in South Street.
