The time was right to step down, says coach Hatchell
BASKETBALL: George Hatchell says 'the time was right' to step down as Plymouth Marjon coach.
Hatchell has handed the EBL Division Three South club's reins to son Matt after 14 years in charge.

Marjon open the new league season at Oxford Brookes University on Saturday.
George Hatchell (right), who is now Marjon under-16s coach, said: "The time was right. I wasn't getting out of players what I needed to. I'm not sure if the hunger was there anymore.

"I'd coached guys for a long time and maybe some players got more court-time than they should've had last season, because of that relationship I had with them."
He added: "It's time for new ideas. I was getting stale myself and we were just going through the motions.
"It wasn't difficult to let go; it feels good to hand over the reins.
"Guys needed new motivation and you can see that. Players are more vibrant now and are looking sharper. It's good."
